Book Now
A monthly celebration of the best food writing with Angela Hartnett, Mark Diacono & invited authors
Taking place on the final Sunday of every month at Cafe Murano Bermondsey, tickets will also include a bespoke two-course dinner inspired by the respective guest.
Hosted by food writer Mark Diacono, our Book Club evenings include an interview in which we hope to find out what brought our guest to this point in their career, what inspired their latest book, and more. There’s also a Q&A, giving you the opportunity to ask questions, and to buy their latest book and have it signed and dedicated.

And of course, there will be the familiar Cafe Murano hospitality: a two-course meal, wine, cocktail and nibbles on arrival is all included in the price.

Sunday 26nd April Henry Harris

Acclaimed chef, restaurateur and food writer Henry Harris has spent more than 40 years working in food and hospitality. He began his career waiting tables in his father’s restaurant before training as an apprentice at Hilaire under Simon Hopkinson. He later followed Hopkinson to Bibendum as his number two, before going on to open the Fifth Floor Restaurant at Harvey Nichols.
In 2002, Henry opened his first restaurant, Racine, where he was chef patron for over a decade. The restaurant became a much-loved institution before he sold it in 2015.

Alongside his work in the kitchen, Henry has written for publications including The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Observer and Noble Rot. He has also worked as a consultant chef for a number of leading restaurants and hospitality groups, including Soho House and The Groucho Club.
In 2022, he opened Bouchon Racine with business partner Dave Strauss to widespread critical acclaim. The Racine Effect is his second cookbook.

Sunday 31st May - Felicity Cloake

Felicity Cloake is the award-winning author of the Guardian’s long-running How to Make the Perfect column and nine books, including three foodie travelogues, the Sunday Times bestseller One More Croissant for the Road, Fortnum & Mason Food Book of the Year Red Sauce Brown Sauce, and the latest, a cycle ride across the US in the run-up to the 2024 election, Peach Street to Lobster Lane. Her first novel, The Underdog – “Food. Romance. Dogs. There is literally nothing not to love about this novel” according to Emma Freud – will be published by Fourth Estate in May 2026. Her dog Wilf is considerably more famous than she is.

Sunday 28th June - Honey & Co.

Award-winning restaurateurs and cookbook authors Itamar Srulovich and Sarit Packer are the founders of the much-loved Honey & Co., which opened in 2012, and have since expanded the family to include Honey & Spice, Honey & Smoke and Honey & Co. Daily, alongside their events space Honey & Co. Studio. Their debut book, Honey & Co: Food from the Middle East, was named Cookbook of the Year by The Sunday Times, Food & Drink Cookery Book of the Year by Fortnum & Mason and won Best First Book at the Guild of Food Writers awards. They write a regular recipe column for FT Weekend, contribute to Guardian Feast and host the podcast Honey & Co: The Food Sessions. Their fifth cookbook, Honey & Co. Daily, is inspired by the menu at their Store Street café and celebrates the pleasure of everyday cooking, with more than 100 vibrant, flavour-packed recipes designed to be simple to prepare but full of character. From brunch favourites and nourishing soups to sandwiches, salads, weeknight dinners, bakes and desserts, the book brings together the kind of generous, seasonal dishes they cook and return to again and again, food that makes even the most ordinary day feel a little more special.

Sunday 26th July - Dawn O'Porter

A Sunday Times bestselling author, broadcaster and journalist, Dawn O’Porter is also the co-founder of Choose Love. She made it all the way to the finals of Celebrity MasterChef, where her love of food, instinct and personality really came through.
Known for her sharp, funny and refreshingly honest voice, she writes about life in a way that feels both deeply personal and completely relatable.

Her latest book, Hungry Eyes, brings all of that to the table. It’s a memoir shaped by the meals, moments and expectations that stay with us, looking at everything from identity and appetite to the quiet pressure of ‘bringing something’. It’s thoughtful, funny and full of feeling, with food at its heart as a way of connecting, sharing and making sense of it all.
Cafe Murano Book Club will provide guests with an opportunity to go behind the scenes of these writers’ minds, creative processes, and forthcoming publications. The entire experience – including a welcome cocktail, signature Cafe Murano nibbles and a two-course menu – will be influenced by the speakers’ themes.
